
Ralf Regeer
Ralf Regeer is the Executive General Manager of Ausecology with over 22 years experience in the environmental and research fields. With a strong technical background and a thorough understanding of current legislation, Ralf is known for his accurate advice and practical solutions, and has solved many clients’ problems when it comes to delivering on compliance obligations. Ralf’s experience in relation to flora, fauna, and vegetation has been obtained through conducting years of ecological surveys and assessments for a wide range of projects. Ralf has developed biodiversity offsetting strategies and plans, environmental management plans, conducted flora & fauna surveys, developed weed and biodiversity management plans, conducted biodiversity and threatened species risk assessments, developed vegetation offsetting strategies (State and Cwlth legislation), and prepared rehabilitation plans. Ralf has been involved in migratory bird surveys, wildlife and koala corridor planning, and the on-ground implementations of these plans.
Lanie Grigg
Lainie is the Ausecology Technical Offset Specialist and has over 20 years’ experience in the fields of science, ecology, and project management, having worked for both local and multinational corporations. Lainie is a founding Director of Ausecology which started when she identified the need for practical-based and science-driven ecological solutions. Ausecology was founded and has been delivering specialist ecology services for multiple clients including offsetting services. Lainie drives a solutions-focused and practical approach to the delivery of conservation outcomes and has gained extensive experience with offsetting including sourcing and securing, stewardship, and long-term management towards conservation goals. Having worked previously in the Environmental Not-for-Profit sector, Lainie values community engagement in achieving conservation outcomes and this is an area she finds particularly rewarding. Lainie authored a peer-reviewed book chapter on Landscape Scale Restoration published by CSIRO. She also managed the planning and implementation of a large-scale restoration project in South East Queensland while engaging the community and multiple partners, which focused on the conservation of Semi-Evergreen Vine Thicket and Brigalow communities across a 300 km strategic corridor. Lainie is very passionate about the delivery of strategic conservation projects which is a passion shared by all who are lucky to work alongside her at Ausecology.


Brad Jeffers
Brad Jeffers is the Ecology Manager who spearheads the Ecology team at Ausecology, bringing to the table an impressive 20-year track record in environmental consulting. With a robust foundation in overseeing and conducting ecological assessments, preclearance surveys, research activities, and specialised expertise in threatened species surveys, Brad has been a trusted partner for a diverse clientele ranging from the mining, gas, and utility industries to esteemed research institutions. Brad’s extensive experience also includes a profound understanding of biodiversity offset strategies, planning, and monitoring. His strategic approach to conserving ecological balance has made him a sought-after authority in designing and implementing effective offset strategies. Whether it’s mitigating the impact of development projects or ensuring sustainable land management, Brad’s expertise in this critical area has consistently delivered tangible results.
Paul O’Callaghan
Paul is the Ausecology Offset Property Manager and an environmental scientist who has worked with wildlife and conducted environmental management within the private and Government sectors since 1985. With a zoology and environmental science background, Paul’s primary skillset relates to working in the field and in captivity with a range of wildlife species and conducting fauna surveys and trapping for construction management and research projects. Paul’s approach is hands-on and his experience is broad. He is also skilled in document production and reporting, collection and collation of environmental data and preparation of reports including: species management plans for least concern and conservation significant species, procedures and standards for captured and exhibited animal care and enclosure design, environmental reports and environmental management plans. He has substantial experience in project management and natural resource management including fire, weed and pest management. He has worked with a broad range of clients and regularly conducts surveys and trapping with regulators, consultants and university researchers.


Gavin Magarry
Gavin is the Ausecology Landscape Revegetation Manager who comes with over 10 years experiencing leading on-ground landscape restoration programs throughout Queensland. Gavin’s strong and comprehensive practical experience, from weed control and planting projects to property management as well as his extensive background in the nursery industry, makes him a pivotal member of Ausecology’s on-ground implementation team. Gavin holds qualifications in Conservation and Land Management and has skills in on-site weed identification and control, crew leadership and supervision, and prescribed burn planning.
